Personnel
Recruitment of personnel
Recruitment of personnel is undertaken primarily through our long-standing network of contacts. Additionally, we also recruit executives, through advertisements placed in the press. We conduct the first interviews and provide our clients with a short-list of potential candidates. The identity of the client can be kept confidential until the end of the discussions.
Labour agreements
Minimum working conditions requirements are usually determined by collective agreements, which are seen as binding for their respective sectors of activity by so-called "Portarias de Extensão” regulation extensions. Labour agreements are often an important source in the work schedule.
Social Security Issues
We provide support, from enrolment to the process of detachment (former E101, now A1). Portuguese Social Security reform, initially set for 2010, only came into force in January 2011, the most significant consequences of which affect independent workers.
Employment Contracts
Contracts may be agreed on a fixed term or permanent basis. There are various types including part-time work contracts, fixed term contracts, teleworking contracts, and temporary work contracts. All contract types must meet certain formal requirements. If these requirements are not met the contract may be rendered invalid.
Accordingly, fixed term contracts can only be signed in special cases regulated by law. Depending on contractual conditions, contracts may be renewed for different periods. Contracts are drawn up by experienced lawyers upon clarifying the individual requirements of our clients. Although the new law concerning social security came into force in January 2011, changes to employer contributions pertaining to type of contract (fixed term or otherwise) should only occur from 2014 onwards.
